Online Training Fights Terrorism

In a progressive move the UN has launched online training as an aid to combating terrorism. The 6 week training program is highly interactive and will be completed by 50 applicants in 45 countries. The online training  is one of 'many technical assistance activities undertaken by UNODC to strengthen Member States' national capacity to counter terrorism'.

The program was put together in partnership with INTERPOL and DiploFoundation after recognizing that “Cooperation between States to prevent and suppress acts of terrorism today is crucial. States must provide prompt and effective assistance to each other to effectively address the terrorist threat”.

I'm excited to see this is yet another 'feather in the cap' for the credibility of online learning, after a year of gaining favor from the likes of the US Department of Education  and various other disciplines who have also moved to the online medium.
