'Health e-Working' - UK Healthcare eLearning Initiative

Today I read about a cool program in the UK called 'Health e-Working' developed by e-Learning for Healthcare. It is a resource made possible by the UK government's Health, Work and Well-being initiative to protect and improve the health and well-being of working age people.

'Health e-Working (which I think sounds quite catchy) offers six interactive eLearning sessions, each about 20 minutes long, to primary care professionals that cover the following topics:
  • Making the occupational link
  • Advising on fitness for work and supporting rehabilitation
  • The implications of the Disability Discrimination Act (2005)
  • Special situations and statutory requirements
  • Communications, relationships and trust
  • Worklessness and unemployment.
These sessions are aimed at improving the primary care professional's confidence, knowledge and skills when it comes to dealing with patient work and health issues.

Specialty Dean Director of the Northern Deanery says  "...without e-learning it would have been a real challenge to deliver the Equality and Diversity training - clinicians' prioritise clinical work and extra time away would have been a further imposition."

Another win for online learning!
